These terms apply to every car rented from Jacobsen, with or without a chauffeur. They are the same terms you sign at the handover, written out here so you can read them before you book.

The booking

A booking is confirmed when we send the confirmation in writing and the rental is paid. Until then, a request or an estimate on this site does not hold a car.

Prices are in euros and include VAT, fully comprehensive insurance, delivery and collection within our included zones, and 250 kilometres a day. Anything else is listed in the confirmation before you pay.

The driver

• Every driver must be at least 25 years old, or 30 for the Lamborghini Revuelto and the Ferrari Purosangue.
• Every driver must have held a full licence for at least three years.
• EU and UK licences are accepted as they are. Any other licence needs an international driving permit.
• A second driver is included, under the same rules. Only named drivers may drive the car.

Deposit

A deposit is held on a credit card in the main driver’s name at the handover. It is not charged. The amount depends on the car and is shown on the rates page and in the confirmation. It is released on the day the car comes back, unless there is damage, a missing item or an unpaid fine to settle.

Debit cards are not accepted for the deposit.

Insurance and excess

Every car is fully comprehensively insured. In the case of damage, the driver pays up to the excess shown for the car. The excess waiver, at €95 a day, brings the excess to zero.

The insurance does not cover:

• Damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
• Driving by anyone who is not a named driver
• Track days, races or timed events of any kind
• Damage to the underside of the car on unmade roads, unless we agreed the route beforehand

Using the car

The car may be driven in Spain and Gibraltar. Portugal is allowed on request, with a cross-border fee. Ferries, including to Morocco, are not allowed.

Smoking and pets are not allowed in any car. A cleaning charge of €250 applies if a car comes back needing more than a normal wash.

Kilometres, fuel and fines

Every rental includes 250 kilometres a day, 750 a weekend and 1,500 a week. Extra kilometres are charged at €4 each, or €6 in the Revuelto.

Cars are handed over with a full tank and can come back at any level. We refuel at cost. Tolls, parking and traffic fines during the rental are charged at cost after the rental, with an administration fee of €30 a fine.

Changes and cancellations

Dates can be moved free of charge if the car is available. A booking cancelled 72 hours or more before the handover is refunded in full. Under 72 hours, half of the rental is kept. If nobody is there at the handover, the full rental is kept.

If the weather makes the drive unsafe, we move the booking to another day at no charge.

Liability

We are responsible for handing over a safe, clean and legal car at the agreed time and place. If we cannot, we offer a similar car or a full refund. We are not responsible for plans that change because of a delay we did not cause.

Law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. Any dispute goes to the courts of Marbella, unless the law gives you the right to use the courts where you live.
