Not every drive needs a mountain. Some of the best evenings on the coast are a ten-minute run into Marbella, a table in the old town and a slow drive home with the windows down.
The drive
Leave Puerto Banús along the Golden Mile as the sun goes down. It is only twelve kilometres, but in a quiet, heavy car like the Continental it feels like an occasion.
Where to park
The old town is mostly closed to cars, so park in one of the underground car parks near the seafront and walk up through the Alameda park. It is five minutes to the Plaza de los Naranjos.
Where to eat
- Plaza de los Naranjos, for the square itself, busy until late
- Calle Ancha, for the smaller, quieter places
- The Paseo Marítimo, for fish by the sea if you want to stay near the car
